Fire in Layton causes FrontRunner delays as area deals with power outage

LAYTON, Utah — A brush fire has broken out in Layton near Layton Parkway, 100 West, causing delays.
UTA FrontRunner had to pause service this afternoon near the Layton station due to the brush fire causing delays.
A bus bridge was ordered between the Layton and Farmington stations for FrontRunner users but was shortly canceled after responders were able to control the fire.
UDOT says to still expect delays of up to 30-40 minutes the rest of the evening.

Amid Layton fire delays, power outage also affecting the area
Rocky Mountain Power also reported a power outage affecting customers in the Farmington/Layton area that could be tied to the fire.
The outage initially affected 11,002, RMP said in a post on social media.
As of 6:15 p.m., RMP’s website showed only 35 customers affected in the area.
