Man in critical but stable condition after being shot on Sunday

SALT LAKE CITY — A 27-year-old man has gone from life-threatening condition to critical but stable after being shot, according to police.
The Salt Lake City Police Department said in a press release that the man was shot near 1500 North Mandalay Road around 2:37 a.m. early Sunday.
When police arrived, they found that the man who had been shot was driven to the hospital by another person.
Police said the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Gang Unit was able to identify 20-year-old Abdiaziz Ibrahim as the suspect who shot the man. He was later arrested on Thursday near 500 North Redwood Road, according to police.
According to the press release, Ibrahim is under arrest at the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on a no-bail hold. He was arrested for felony discharge of a firearm resulting in bodily injury, aggravated assault resulting in bodily injury, and being a category one restricted person in possession of a firearm.
