SALT LAKE CITY — The Harris and Trump campaigns seem to be at odds as they prepare for their upcoming ABC debate on September 10.

According to Politico and other national sources, what’s up for debate are microphone settings.

“Sources are claiming that there’s disagreement whether the mics will be muted when its not their turn to talk,” Cannon said.
Apparently, when Former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden agreed to the presidential debates on June 27 and September 10, they settled on rules that included muted mics.
“Now, the sides have flipped,” Cannon said. “Apparently, the [Kamala] Harris campaign now wants the mics to be hot, or on, when the other person’s not talking.”
Politico says hot mics are historically the case at presidential debates.
“Maybe the Harris team thinks that they can get Trump to lose his cool. That’s the only thing that I think would be a reason for them to do this,” Cannon said.
Vice President Kamala Harris and Former President Trump will debate on September 10, airing on ABC.
