Salt Lake City Police investigating deadly Liberty Wells crash

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City Police Department said it is investigating a crash that killed one man in the Liberty Wells neighborhood of Salt Lake.
On Sunday at 11:25 p.m., a crash was reported near Blaine Avenue.
When police and firefighters arrived, they found a 62-year-old man dead.
Based on initial facts, they believe that he had crashed his car into another vehicle. The other car was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
According to the SLCPD, detectives are considering whether a medical episode could have occurred before the crash.
No additional injuries were reported.
The SLCPD press release said that the crash marks the seventh traffic-related fatality in Salt Lake City in 2024.
Liberty Wells is a Salt Lake City neighborhood sitting between 1300 S and 2100 S, just east of downtown.
It is near Liberty Park, Sugarhouse, and the 9th and 9th Business District. According to Salt Lake City, it was classified as a historic district in 2010.
