Some cellular users report cell phone service outages

SALT LAKE CITY — Some Verizon users are experiencing cell phone service outages.

According to technology news outlet 9to5Mac, impacted users reported an inability to use cellular data services.
iPhone users noted an “SOS” message instead of the cellular service indicator. Additionally, complaints about the outage flooded X.
The company’s network status website does not display any service issues.
In a post on X, Verizon addressed the issue. It read that “engineers are engaged and we are working quickly to identify and solve the issue.”

No further details were given.
However, DownDetector’s outage map showed hotspots for cell phone service outages sprinkled across the U.S.
Some AT&T users reported similar problems. AT&T has also not released a statement on the outages yet.
