Man struck by train in SLC in serious condition

SALT LAKE CITY — A man is in serious condition after he was struck by a train Monday morning. The man was riding his bike when the incident happened.
According to Union Pacific Manager Meg Siffring, a Union Pacific train hit the man near South Temple and 800 West in Salt Lake City.
“The individual was transported to a nearby hospital. The train crew was not injured, and the incident is under investigation,” said Siffring.
Capt. Chad Jepperson with the Salt Lake City Fire Department said they responded to the accident and transported an adult male in serious but stable condition to Intermountain Medical Care.
