Police identify adult killed in accident on US 40 near Heber

HEBER, Utah — The Utah Department of Public Safety has identified a woman killed in an auto accident this week near Heber.
Norma A. Jones, age 35, from Duchesne, Utah was killed in the accident along with her three-year-old daughter.

The accident happened Tuesday, Oct. 1, on U.S. 40 approximately 15 miles south of Heber.
Lt. Cam Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol said a white Dodge pickup truck and a blue Volkswagen Passat driven by Jones were traveling in opposite directions near milepost 36 when one car crossed into oncoming traffic.
Roden said the driver’s side of the Passat was hit. Jones and the three-year-old girl sitting in the front seats were thrown from the car.
Two male juveniles traveling in the back seat of the Passat survived, according to the DPS. Nobody in the Passat was wearing a seat belt.
They were flown by helicopter to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Two male adults in the Dodge truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries, the DPS said. They were wearing seat belts.
