SALT LAKE CITY — Another step in the certification of the Nov. 5 election is taking place this week. The counties are conducting post-election audits.
Salt Lake County Chief Deputy Clerk Nikila Venugopal said their batches were sent to the Lieutenant Governor’s Office, which will randomly select some batches of ballots for the audits.
“To make sure that we are completely just pulling random batches to be audited, and there’s no outside influence on the process,” Venugopal said.
Post-election audits in different counties
Salt Lake County’s post-election audit took place on Thursday, Nov. 14.
Weber County completed its post-election audit on Tuesday and Tooele County completed its audit on Wednesday.
Utah County will conduct its audit on Friday, Nov. 15.
According to the Utah County website, the Utah County Elections Division is inviting the public to view its audit at 10 a.m.
That audit will be viewable at the Utah County Ballot Processing Center, located in room LL700 at 100 E. Center Street in Provo.
