SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Hockey Club fans can finally get a jersey from the club’s inaugural season.
Season ticket holders lined up at the Delta Center Friday morning, standing outside in the cold for hours. Some arrived before 6 a.m. in hopes to score a jersey.
By the time the doors opened for season ticket holders, the line wrapped around the block.
Why get one now?
The club is planning on changing their logo and jersey design once they solidify a name and mascot, but that hasn’t stopped fans from wanting a jersey now.
When season ticket holder Stephanie Doerr was asked why she wants a jersey, she said it’s because it’s a piece of history.
“I’m hoping to get Keller because he is the captain, the first captain in franchise history, and I think that’s super exciting.”
The jerseys also come with exclusive shoulder patches to celebrate the inaugural season.
How to get one
After season ticket holders took their opportunity at 8 a.m., the team store opened up for the rest of the public at noon.
Worried you may have missed your chance to get one? Don’t worry. President of Hockey Operations Chris Armstrong said in a press release that getting jerseys to fans has been a top priority, and they knew the demand for jerseys would be super high. That’s why they also made them available online.
The online jerseys don’t have the shoulder patches, but they also cost starting at about $20 less.
