SALT LAKE CITY — The day after Thanksgiving is a big day for plumbers.
It’s actually one of the busiest days for the profession. And there are several reasons, said Plumbing Service Manager with Any Hour Services Isaac Allred.
“Things that go wrong with the prep, where potatoes go down the disposal,” he said. He said customers also call for help after flooding in bathrooms.
“One of the main reasons has to do with the holiday itself because there is quite a bit of indulgent eating,” Allred said. “It usually has to do with the bathroom visits that result from said indulgent eating.”
He has a little rhyme to help keep things going down the drain.
“Number one, quick flush and you’re done. Number two, hold the flush ’til it’s through,” Allred said.
He said if you’re trying to avoid a service call, be careful to use the right kind of plunger for the job, otherwise your holiday may go down the drain.
