SALT LAKE CITY — The holiday season is in full swing and there are several festive activities happening around Utah.

Festival of Trees

The Festival of Trees held at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy benefits patients in need at the Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital.

Dana Hussey, co-chair of the Festival of Trees volunteer board, said the event has something for all ages.

“If you haven’t ever been to the Festival of Trees, start a tradition with your family, and come this year,” said Hussey. “… we have a Kids Corner where kids can make ornaments [and] little gifts for their friends. There’s an Elf Emporium where they can go and buy things for their teachers. Santa will be there, the Grinch will be there … there’s something for everyone.”

The festival will feature over 500 decorated trees with a half million lights. Additionally, there are wreaths, nativities, gingerbread houses, quilts and 5,000 pounds of the locally renowned Festival of Trees fudge in 51 different flavors. All of the items are available for purchase or bid at the silent auction.

The Festival of Trees takes place at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy Dec. 4 through Dec. 7.
