Here’s our interview with KSL TV Sports Anchor Jeremiah Jenson about the Cam Rising news.
SALT LAKE CITY—Quarterback Cam Rising appears to be done with Utah Football. On Monday, 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz reported that the current expectation is that Rising will not be back with Utah next season.

His 2024 campaign came to a premature and unceremonious end. Rising suffered a finger injury after he was shoved into water coolers by Baylor defender Treven Ma’ae.
In his first game back from the finger injury, Rising suffered a season-ending lower leg injury against Arizona State.

Cam Rising’s Departure Is Significant For Utah Football
Though his departure is not fully official, Rising’s seeming departure is significant. Utah welcomed new offensive coordinator Jason Beck to the program last week. His offense differs considerably from the pro-style offense Rising thrived in under Ludwig.
With Beck at the helm, all indications suggest significant interest between Utah and New Mexico signal caller Devon Dampier.
Rising’s departure would clear the way for Dampier or any other quarterback target to step into the starting role at Utah.
