Utah college presidents urge Congress for DACA replacement

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The presidents of Utah’s 8 public colleges and universities want Congress to act on DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals).
The presidents of every public college from USU in the north to SUU in the south signed a letter to Utah’s congressional delegation.
They say a decade before DACA was created, the Utah legislature extended in-state tuition college rates to students who graduated from a Utah high school.
They say more than 1,200 students will qualify this year under that law.
And they are asking congress to get a long term solution to immigration policies to “allow all students to realize their dreams.”
