After attempted kidnapping, Lehi police have a message for parents

LEHI, Utah — Lehi police say a teenage girl did everything right on Saturday night when she thwarted what police call a kidnapping attempt.
The Lehi kidnapping attempt happened at Thanksgiving Point around 10:30 p.m.
“She definitely thought quick, and I think it saved her from a situation that could have gone worse,” Jeanteil Livingston with Lehi City told KSL NewsRadio. And there’s more kids can do.
“Always have a buddy or a system,” Livingston said, “always try to have somebody with you.
The girl screamed and alerted others, police said, scaring the suspect away. Parents can also take actions to help assure that their kids are safe when they venture into crowded situations.
“As far as parents go, make sure you know where your children are. Keep (in) contact with your children, and know who they’re with.”
Lehi Police describe the suspect as a male in his 30s. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall, and was wearing a hoodie.
