Can insulting a police officer be a hate crime?

Have you heard the case from Garfield County where the police officer charged a woman who stomped on a sign in front of the officer and gave him a menacing look  with a hate crime? KSL Newsradio's Amanda Dickson is struggling with the charge of a hate crime. Criminal mischief? For sure. But a hate crime? Amanda wanted to get some insight from her guests on A Woman's View.
