Peter Samore joined the KSL Newsradio team as a multimedia journalist in July 2011, where he finds it exciting and fulfilling to report the news that Utahns depend on and trust through several of KSL’s and Bonneville International’s media platforms.
Before moving to Salt Lake City, Peter spent his entire journalism career in Southern California. He knew early in life that he wanted to report the news not just to share compelling stories, but to keep people informed about what is happening around them so they can make sharp decisions. Peter loves coming into work every day knowing that there will be at least one surprise or one news angle that has not been discussed before.
He has covered nearly every story imaginable, from California’s “four seasons” (fires, floods, earthquakes and drought) to online scams to politics to the triumphs of ordinary people. Peter has a keen interest in Middle East affairs, and has visited Syria and Lebanon twice each. He has won awards for his work, including a “Mark Twain” from the Associated Press Television Radio Association for his 2010 Election Night coverage.
Peter calls KSL a legendary station and is happy to be a part of it. He’s even happier to breathe fresh, allergen-free air on a daily basis—he’s not afraid of the inversion layer—and now he only sneezes once a week!
