SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints will be letting up on some pandemic restrictions.

At the start of the pandemic, the church required all those individuals wishing to attend the temple to make a reservation ahead of time.

The church announced Friday that reservations won’t be required in the near future. While reservations will still be accepted, walk-ins to the temple will welcome, space-permitting.

According to a church news release, there have been advantages in the reservation process. Those advantages include: reduced wait times and ensuring members can participate in the ordinances (ceremonies) as they choose.

The church says the exact date this policy will go into effect will be announced in the near future.
