The Family Support Center

For forty years The Family Support Center has been protecting children, strengthening families and preventing child abuse. The center is a not for profit organization that was established in response to a pressing need for short-term crisis and respite care for children at risk for abuse or neglect. Their services have expanded to offer a network of programs to address multifaceted issues facing families today including free care for children through the Crisis Nursery, parenting support, housing, counseling and community classes. They have five locations throughout the Salt Lake valley to serve and provide support to the community.

People’s Health Clinic

For eighteen years People’s Health Clinic has provided quality health care to the uninsured of Summit and Wasatch Counties, which includes a diabetes prevention program complete with testing and education for healthy lifestyles. Patients who are at-risk or have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes or diabetes are encouraged to enroll into the program and are given the tools to self-manage their health. They work with the LiVe Well Center at Intermountain’s Park City Hospital to offer healthy eating education and weekly exercise taught by local physical fitness instructors. Some of the other services include eye and foot exams.
