Police, district: Jordan High School threat not credible

SANDY, Utah — Police say they don’t believe a scrawled threat was credible for Jordan High School, but about half the students stayed home on Wednesday anyway.

The Canyons School District says families do have the option to keep kids home.

The school wrote to parents earlier this week that a threat was found on a bathroom wall, and it was specific for Wednesday.

There are 2,021 students and it fluctuated at 50 percent absentees throughout the day.

Police increased their presence at the school and found nothing. They do plan to be back on Thursday as well but believe things should be operating normally.
