Green waste debris drop off locations across northern Utah

As communities continue the cleanup after a massive windstorm knocked out power and toppled trees on Tuesday, we’ve compiled a list of green waste drop off locations across northern Utah.
Bountiful Green Waste
Bountiful City says the preferred location for green waste drop off is at the Bountiful City landfill 1300 West 1600 North between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Other dropoff locations are:
- Washington Elementary – 340 West 650 South
- Tolman/Rocket Park – 1300 East Center Street
- Lewis Park – 275 East Lewis Park Drive
- Churches
Centerville
Some dumpsites in Centerville are full, but the city says the remaining open dumpsites will remain available through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Those locations that remain open are:
- Community Park – 1350 N Frontage Rd (north parking lot)
- Smoot Park – 1550 N 200 W (lower parking lot)
- Churches
- 270 N 300 E (enter from 300 E)
- 950 N Main St (enter on 100 E and exit Main St)
CLOSED
Freedom Hills dumpsite is FULL and will no longer be open to the public.
Clinton
Clinton City Public Works will be accepting tree branches between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 a.m.

Davis County Landfill
The Davis Landfill which serves all of Morgan and Davis County (with the exception of Bountiful) has waived fees for green waste delivered by district residents with proof of residency until September 23. They say the fee waiver does not apply to businesses or commercial customers.
The landfill is open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and asks residents to remember to properly secure green waste loads to prevent debris from ending up on roadways.
Farmington
Farmington City says they will accept green waste left in blue and black garbage cans for the next two weeks. They also highly encourage dropping all branches and green waste at the Central Davis Sewer District that will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Branches dropped at the Sewer District must be cut to less than 6 ft and be smaller than 8 inches in diameter.
Other options are:
- Davis Landfill – 1997 E 3500 N, Layton
- Glovers Park – 1100 W Glovers Ln
- 3 areas to dump general debris (shingles, awnings fences, etc) green waste under 8″ in diameter, green waste and rootballs over 8″
- Curbside
- Farmington City says that green waste can be left next to the curb where the City and Robinson Waste will collect it
- The City says it will take a number of days to clean up all the debris left on the curb, and branches need to be cut into 6′ lengths
Kaysville
In addition to the Davis County Landfill, Kaysville City has provided dumpsters for green waste at 2200 West and 200 North. The city says only green waste may be dumped and limbs need to be cut in order to fit in the dumpsters.

Logan
Logan City is asking residents to fill their green waste containers with any tree debris that will fit, and to transport any larger debris, free of charge, to the Logan Green Waste Facility at 153 N 1400 W in Logan. The facility is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Millcreek
Millcreek City says Public Works crews will be out assisting in cleanup in the most affected areas across the city around Mountair Dr and on Connor St. The city says cleanup on Connor St. will begin after downed power lines are repaired.
They say all private debris can be dropped off at the Salt Lake County Maintenance Yard at 3800 S Wasatch Blvd between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Murray
Murray City has two locations open for dropping green waste and is offering a $10 voucher to the Trans-Jordan Landfill (call 801-270-2440 for a voucher.)
- Murray City Park – 202 E Murray Park Ave (southeast side of the Park Center)
- Grant Park – West lot on Valley Drive
Ogden
Ogden City is asking residents not to pile green waste on the roadway or in garbage cans.
They say two green waste dropoff locations have been set up to handle storm debris. Residents can also contact 801-629-8271 to report any other issues.

South Ogden
South Ogden City says four temporary locations will be open to dispose of storm debris that will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or until the site is full.

The city says if you are dumping at the Ogden City Green Waste Station at 1845 Monroe Blvd you will need a red voucher from City Hall
North Salt Lake
The city of North Salt Lake says that residents who can dispose of their own green waste are encouraged to do so. They say residents of North Salt Lake will be able to drop off green waste free of charge at the Bountiful City Landfill at 1300 West 1600 North with proof of residency.
The city says the Bountiful landfill is their preferred location, but they will also accept green waste at the public works yard at 642 North 400 West. Residents will also need to show proof of residency.
North Salt Lake will also have a curbside pickup program to help residents dispose of large trees they can not take care of themselves. The program will be by appointment only by contacting Public Works Administrative Assistant Sally Beyer at 801-335-8726.
Residents of Salt Lake County can also self-report damage to help officials coordinate resources and cleanup efforts.

Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City says they are encouraging as much green waste as possible to be placed in brown compost cans that will be collected as quickly as possible. They say extra cans can be requested from the city’s compost program or by calling 801-535-6999.
Other loads less than 9,000 pounds can be taken without charge to the Salt Lake Valley Landfill at 6030 California Ave between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Debris from city-owned trees can be piled on the curbside where it will be collected soon. The city says they are also working on a schedule to begin curbside pickup of private tree debris as well.
Residents of Salt Lake County can also self-report damage to help officials coordinate resources and cleanup efforts.

West Jordan
West Jordan will be providing dumpsters for residents who have green waste left behind by the windstorm.
The dumpsters will be available beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday to 9 a.m. on Friday.
