Kamala Harris arrives in Utah and tours This Is the Place Heritage Park

SALT LAKE CITY — Shortly after her arrival in Utah ahead of the Vice Presidential debate scheduled to take place on Oct. 7, Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris traveled via motorcade to This Is the Place Heritage Park at the mouth of Emigration Canyon.
There, Sen. Harris joined former Democratic Utah state Sen. Scott Howell and took a tour of the park.
They stopped at various statues and monuments and talked about the history of Utah.
“It’s good to be here,” Harris said to reporters. “When you think about the spirit of America, including the pioneers here, that is so much of the fabric of this nation.”
They were essentially immigrants. They were fleeing persecution. They were fighting for religious freedom.
“I’m really honored to be here. I’ll be here for the next few days, preparing for the debate. And I want to thank the people of Utah for being so welcoming in such a warm way,” she said.
