Two workers from Wasatch Electric electrocuted while working in West Valley City

SALT LAKE CITY — Lieutenant Manfred Lassig from Unified Police Department says two male workers from Wasatch Electric were electrocuted while working in West Valley City on Saturday afternoon.
He says the call came about 4:06 PM and a detective is there investigating what happened. He says the workers were exchanging out some lines in a basket at 4390 South Constitution Blvd (2700 West).
“One became stiff and unresponsive,” Lassig said. “The other person thought he felt that he got shocked.”
He says the conscious worker came down out of the basket and began administering CPR to the other. From there authorities arrived on scene and rushed the unresponsive worker to Intermountain Medical Center (IMC) in extremely critical condition.
“As of last report that I got he was alive and had a heart beat going,” Lassig said.
He says the other worker was also taken to IMC in poor condition.
“He was the one who administered CPR,” Lassig said. “He worked through what injuries he had, to render first aid to his coworker.”
He says other employees showed up onto the scene, but he has not yet confirmed if there were any witnesses to the electrocution.
