Weather advisory, flash flood warnings issued for parts of northern Utah

SALT LAKE CITY– Thunderstorms looming over parts of northern Utah are prompting the National Weather Service–NWS to issue a slew of weather advisories.
Currently, a flash flood warning is in effect for the Uinta Wasatch Cache National Forest, including a section of Cache County. The warning is active until 3:15 p.m.

The NWS reports the rural roads near the national forest are experiencing two to three inches of rainfall per hour. Conditions are especially harsh near Saddle Creek.
A thunderstorm weather advisory was also issued for the Bear Lake area, cautioning the public of large hail and loads of rain. Wind gusts of 50+ mph are also a possibility.

The storms seem to be moving toward the Cottonwoods, as the NWS advises hikers in the area to remain vigilant of the weather conditions.
