BREAKING UPDATE: An Amber Alert out of Carbon County was canceled Saturday morning after Idaho authorities reported the two missing boys it referenced had been found.

No other details were immediately available. The notice canceling the Amber Alert said nothing about the suspect, Derek Rowley, accused of taking the two boys from Price.

The original story follows below.

PRICE, Utah — Authorities in Carbon County issued an Amber Alert for two young boys who disappeared, presumably with the non-custodial father of one of the boys. The sheriff’s office said in a news release that the man made contact with law enforcement, and also threatened to harm himself and the children in communication with family members.

Investigators say this started after they received a call from a family member of one of the children, saying the boys were in Carbon County and they wanted police to see if they were all right.  Rowley reportedly has a history of making threats.

Carbon County Sheriff Jeff Wood says, “He has made threats toward himself and the children, as well as family members.”

Wood says Rowley has a protective order filed against him in Washington and because of that, he isn’t supposed to have any contact with his son, Manson Rowley.

“In the process of checking on them, we were told about this protective order, but it’s an out of state protective order,” Wood says.  “We had to get a copy of that and verify all the information and in the time it took us to do that, he has since left our area.”

Investigators believe Derek Rowley was driving a gold 2004 Chevrolet Silverado flatbed pick-up truck, with Washington state license plate C66780T. The truck towed a fifth-wheel camp trailer with Washington plate 513111AE.

Rowley has ties to Washington and Oregon, so police believe he would head to one of those states.  However, the Amber Alert was extended to other states, like Idaho and Montana.

Carbon County Amber Alert focuses on non-custodial father

Authorities described Derek Rowley as standing six feet tall, and weighing 190 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes and a tattoo of a crown on the left side of his neck. The suspect also has a tattoo on his right hand of a skull and another on his right arm.

He is accused of taking Manson Rowley, age 8, and Arsen Mangum, age 6, without permission. Both boys were last seen wearing pajamas. Manson has blonde hair and blue eyes. He is three feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 50 pounds. Arsen has blonde hair and blue eyes. He is three feet five inches tall and weighs about 40 pounds.

If you have any information about this Amber Alert, please call Police at (435) 637-0890 or call 911.
