PROVO, Utah — Provo High School was locked down for a period of time Thursday after a student notified a teacher about people fighting in a parking lot and that one student had a gun.
In a tweet, Provo police said they received a call from the school at around 12:45 p.m. Thursday. At that time, Provo police said that the school was placed on lockdown and that students had been evacuated.
On its Facebook page, nearby Lakeview Elementary School reported that the school locked their doors and kept students inside due to their proximity to Provo High School.
No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
Both individuals involved in the altercation were located.
Provo High is still an active investigation scene.
We understand this is a stressful, concerning time and want to reassure parents
