PROVO, Utah — Provo High School was locked down for a period of time Thursday after a student notified a teacher about people fighting in a parking lot and that one student had a gun.

In a tweet, Provo police said they received a call from the school at around 12:45 p.m. Thursday. At that time, Provo police said that the school was placed on lockdown and that students had been evacuated.

On its Facebook page, nearby Lakeview Elementary School reported that the school locked their doors and kept students inside due to their proximity to Provo High School.

KSL-TV reported at approximately 3:15 p.m. that the lockdown had been lifted and that two minors had been located.

KSL-TV reporter Alex Cabrero said that one of the students involved in the fight had an airsoft gun, which is the gun that was reported to teachers initially.

By 3:30 p.m., Provo police reported that there had been no injuries and that the school remained involved in an active investigation.
