TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday for the man accused of killing a popular Latina radio host Gabby Ramos.
Manuel Burciaga-Perea faces four charges by the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office. They include domestic violence, obstruction of justice, murder, and burglary.
Police say Ramos was shot several times at close range by Burciaga-Perea on Oct. 17, 2021.
Authorities believe that after the crime, Burciaga-Perea immediately turned off his cell phone and fled to Mexico. In addition, authorities also say the next day his Facebook messenger account was accessed in Mexico.
According to police documents, the 9-year-old daughter of the Latina radio host was in the same room at the time Ramos was killed. Burciaga-Perea was apparently upset that Ramos was dancing with another man at a party, according to police.
