SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — Police have found four missing girls taken from near their Daybreak home yesterday. The girls were found in California near San Diego and were unharmed.

Four girls taken from Daybreak home

The girls were last seen near their Daybreak home on Dec. 11 around 10:45 a.m. Their father reported them missing around 3 p.m. when they did not return home. Investigators believed their mother to have taken the girls from the home without approval.

The mother of the four missing girls who was a suspect in the Amber Alert did not have a scheduled visit when the girls were taken on Saturday, officials say.

Police believe when the girls left their home Saturday morning, their mother picked them up.

Mother reportedly had supervised visitation rights only

South Jordan Police Department confirms the suspect, Allison Brimhall, is the girls’ biological mother. She only had supervised visitation rights to the missing girls.

Father searched for girls on his own

The father of the girls had told police he tried to start finding the girls himself before calling the police at 3 p.m. Saturday, said South Jordan Police Lt. Matt Pennington. Around noon on Sunday, South Jordan Police reported that the children had been found, safe and unharmed, in California.
