UPDATE: Power returns after outage in Salt Lake blamed City on animal

SALT LAKE CITY — A power outage that affected more than 6,000 customers in Salt Lake City has been restored. Rocky Mountain Power said the outage was caused by “animal interferences” but was not more specific.

The outage is affecting five schools in the Salt Lake City School District, which reports that backup generators are running and that the school day will continue.
Due to a problem at a local substation, power is out at five of our schools – Bonneville Elementary, Clayton Middle, Dilworth Elementary, Highland High and Uintah Elementary.
