SALT LAKE CITY — Hundreds gathered at the Utah State Capitol Tuesday night to rally in support of abortion rights.

The protest comes one night after Politico obtained a draft opinion from the U.S. Supreme Court that would overture the landmark Roe v. Wade decision.

Those at Tuesday night’s protest say that abortion is a human right. Representatives from Planned Parenthood, who put on the event, along with several Democratic lawmakers were in attendance.

The protest then turned into a march through downtown Salt Lake City to Library Square. Protesters chanted as they walked past headquarters for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

During the protest at the Capitol, there were reports of boos in the crowd. However, most of the people at the rally are against the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion, which could potentially overturn Roe v. Wade.

Since news broke about document being leaked on Monday evening, many state leaders have come out with responses, including Utah Gov. Spencer Cox, who posted the following to Twitter late Monday evening.
