UPDATE: Provo Police file charges against man who allegedly threatened school

PROVO, Utah — Investigators have filed charges against a Provo man accused of threatening Timpanogos Elementary School.
Charging documents said Robert Prina, 46, faces a felony charge of threatening terrorism, as well as misdemeanor counts of threatening a school and assaulting a peace officer.
Provo Police Captain Brian Taylor said officers responded to call from the school on Thursday afternoon, after Prina allegedly, “Left a note threatening to conduct a school shooting and detonate a bomb at the school,” Taylor said.
Taylor said officers contacted Prina at the Boulder Apartments, where he barricaded himself in his apartment, threatening to detonate a device.
Police evacuated the apartment complex while SWAT and negotiators responded to the scene.
After about an hour and a half, “[Prina] agreed to come out…and immediately laid down on the ground…and was quickly taken into custody,” Taylor said.
Prina was booked into the Utah County Jail Thursday evening.
