As one blaze is nearly contained, new Soldier Fire starts up

UTAH COUNTY, Utah — Utah Fire Info reports that forward progress on the Soldier Fire has been stopped. The size of the fire has grown to 35 acres. Crews will remain on scene tonight to strengthen containment lines.

UTAH COUNTY, Utah — While fire officials in Davis County are getting a handle on the Deuel Creek Fire, Utah Fire Info announced that a new fire started up Tuesday afternoon in Utah County.
According to Utah Fire Info, the Soldier Fire is located off Highway 68 near milepost 15 in the area of Soldier Pass.
The fire is rapidly moving eastward. The fire is at 25 acres thus far, according to Utah Fire Info. Air and ground resources are on the scene of the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Additionally, Utah Fire Info reports there have been no closures as a result of the fire.
Tuesday evening, Utah Fire Info reported that the Deuel Creek Fire was 76% contained.
