First day of school dates for schools along the Wasatch Front

SALT LAKE CITY — The end of August will kick off the school year for students of all ages in Utah. And there isn’t a lot of uniformity across districts when it comes to when school starts. Each school district along the Wasatch Front has its own academic calendar, and dates for the first day of school may vary.
First day of school by district
Alpine School District: Aug. 17
Cache County School District: Aug. 18
Canyons School District: Aug. 15, Aug. 18 for kindergarten
Davis School District: Aug. 22
Granite School District: Aug. 18
Jordan School District: Aug. 17 for grades 10-12 and grade 7 orientation, Aug. 18 for grades 1-6 and 8-9, and Aug. 26 for kindergarten
Juab School District: Aug. 17
Logan School District: Aug. 24
Morgan School District: Aug. 24
Murray City School District: Aug. 12 for grade 7, Aug. 15 for grades 1-6 and 8-12, and Aug. 24 for kindergarten
Nebo School District: Aug. 17, and Aug. 24 for kindergarten.
Ogden School District: Aug. 19
Provo City School District: Aug. 16
Salt Lake City School District: Aug. 30
Weber School District: Aug. 23
