Storm moves out, leaving Utah feeling chilly

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah’s massive winter storm has mostly moved out of the Wasatch Front, but it left behind a frigid aftershock.

Temperatures hovered below 20 degrees in Salt Lake City for much of Thursday morning, and highs are only expected to reach barely above freezing.

KSL Meteorologist Matt Johnson said all the snow lying around makes temperatures feel colder than they are.

The good news is it’s going to warm up pretty quickly.

Despite a frigid Thursday, Salt Lake City will see highs in the upper 30s on Friday, before potentially hitting the low to mid-40s on Saturday.

Johnson said the next system will come up from the southwest, believe it or not, as far as southern California.

That system will bring northern Utah its next chance of snow on Sunday.
