BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah — State Route 190 will be closed in Big Cottonwood Canyon from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Thursday due to “unprecedented” avalanche hazards.
The Utah Department of Transportation said both directions of traffic would be closed between the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon to Cardiff Fork. Local travel will be allowed above Cardiff Fork.
Big Cottonwood Canyon was closed due to a wet slide that covered the road Saturday afternoon. It reopened around 4 p.m.
