SALT LAKE CITY — The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced Tuesday the location of the Charlotte North Carolina Temple.
The temple was first announced by President Russell M. Nelson in April.
The temple will be constructed on 5.9 acres of land at 345 Providence Road South in Weddington, North Carolina, according to the church.
According to a church news release, the structure will be one-story of roughing 30,000 square feet. More information on the temple, including an exterior rendering will be released at a later date.
The Charlotte North Carolina Temple is the second temple in the Tar Heel State. The Raleigh North Carolina Temple was dedicated in 1999 by then President Gordon B. Hinckley.
