SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police say one person is in custody following a fatal stabbing late Thursday afternoon.
The stabbing happened near the Glendale Golf Course, 1875 S. Redwood Road, around 5:30 p.m. Once on scene, emergency personnel rendered first aid to the victim.
The victim was taken to a hospital but later died from their injuries.
Witnesses told police the suspect fled the scene on foot. About 15 minutes later, an officer spotted someone who matched the description of the suspect on the Jordan River trail near 1800 South.
The suspect was safely taken into custody. The identity of the victim has not been released.
An investigation is ongoing.
