Several children fall from canoes into Jordan River, all accounted for and safe

JORDAN, Utah — Several children and two counselors are safe after their canoes capsized in the Jordan River as runoff water continues to move fast. They were taking part in an activity with the Tracy Aviary.
Ladd Egan with KSL 5 TV, said on Twitter that everybody was safe and accounted for and no injuries were reported. One child was transported to a nearby hospital upon the parent’s request.
NOW: All youth accounted for after two canoes capsized on the Jordan River.
Group was part of organized activity with Tracy Aviary.

Egan said that after the children and counselors fell into the water, one counselor made it to shore and borrowed a phone to get ahold of 911.
All children and counselors were able to make it to shore on their own.
