LAYTON, Utah — Layton fire officials say all three occupants of a house safely made it out following a house fire Tuesday afternoon.
The fire occurred at a residence in the area of 780 E. 425 South. According to Layton City Fire Marshal Doug Bitton, emergency personnel were notified of the fire around 4:30 p.m.
Bitton says the first sign of the fire came from the Trex deck outside the home. The fire then spread to the deck and eventually to the attic of the home.
Bitton says there were three individuals inside the home at the time of the incident – two males and a female. All three got out safely. However, one of the males suffered minor injuries while trying to retrieve some pets inside the home.
He was treated and released the scene.
Additionally, Bitton says two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion.
Fire crews had the fire out in six minutes, according to Bitton.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
