DAVIS COUNTY, Utah — Crews from the Utah Department of Transportation spent several hours Monday repairing a road-buckling situation on U.S. Highway 89 in Davis County.
“This is in about the same area that we had a similar incident over the weekend,” said UDOT spokesman John Gleason. “And this is the time of the year, first and second week of July, that we really start to see some of these buckling situations happen on the road.”
Gleason says the damage extends across one lane, impacting at least one right lane of southbound traffic.
The damage is at milepost 404 near 3000 North in Layton. Gleason says UDOT was notified of the situation around 5:15 p.m.
Gleason says it generally takes four hours to repair road damage such as a road-buckling situation.
