Two individuals arrested for alleged aggravated robbery incident

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police say they have arrested two individuals for their alleged involvement in an aggravated robbery.
Police say they were notified Monday morning around 8:30 a.m. of a 37-year-old woman being robbed and attacked in the area of 5100 W. Wiley Post Way.
According to a news release, police say 30-year-old Anthony Alvarado allegedly threatened the victim with a knife. He then allegedly stole her purse and vehicle.
Police say the suspect then ditched the victim’s vehicle and got into another vehicle driven by 26-year-old Christina Bettecher.
Officers attempted a traffic stop of Bettcher. She allegedly refused to stop, however.
Later, authorities found the vehicle near 1500 W. Pueblo Street. Both suspects were safely taken into custody.
Alvarado was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of one count of aggravated robbery and one felony count of theft. He was also booked for investigation of one felony count of failure to stop at the command of a police officer and one felony count of possession of a weapon by a restrict person.
He also had an active warrant, according to the release.
Bettcher was booked for investigation of felony count of failure to stop at the command of a police officer.
