Utah breaks another high-temperature record, heat sticking around

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City broke another high-temperature record as July’s heat wave continues to scorch cities all over Utah.
The National Weather Service reported that the Salt Lake City Airport hit 106 degrees today. The previous record for the day was 104 degrees, set in 2022, 2006 and 2003.

This is soon after several Utah cities hit record highs Sunday. Salt Lake City broke the record of 103 degrees with a similarly sweltering 106.
Temperatures are expected to stay hot tomorrow. The high to beat in Salt Lake City on July 23 is 105, and highs are forecasted to tie, if not surpass this temperature.
