Man arrested for alleged robberies on the Jordan River Trail

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police say a 19-year-old man, wanted in connection with his alleged involvement in a pair of weekend robberies, is in custody.
On Saturday, police were notified of a robbery in the area of California Avenue and Jordan River Trail around 6:30 a.m.
Once on scene, officers learned that the suspect approached two individuals, allegedly in possession of a gun. A press release from SLCPD says the suspect allegedly stole items from victims, including a backpack.
The suspect, who has been identified as Romney Wolfgramm, allegedly fled the scene following the robbery.
Law enforcement personnel quickly began a search of the area for the suspect.
A short time later, an officer found suspect in the area of 1500 South and the Jordan River Trail. As the officer discovered Wolfgramm, he was allegedly in the middle of committing a second robbery.
Despite the officer’s order to stop, Wolfgramm fled the scene and tossed the weapon into the Jordan River. The weapon was successfully retrieved from the river. A short time later, the suspect was safely taken into custody.
Wolfgramm was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of four counts of aggravated robbery. Each of the four counts are a first-degree felony. He was also booked for investigation of possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to stop at the command of a police officer and obstruction of justice.
