Thunderstorms moving across northern Utah; severe thunderstorm warnings issued

SALT LAKE CITY — Portions of Salt Lake and Tooele Counties are under a severe thunderstorm warning as a string of storms slowly makes its way across northern Utah.
KSL Meteorologist Kevin Eubank said the storm will eventually move north across Davis County and portions of Weber County at 25 mph.
Eubank said the storm is expected to bring gusty winds, heavy rain and standing water on roadways. He said there is a potential for lightning and that residents should bring in their patio furniture as well as their garbage cans.

The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Salt Lake City, West Valley City and Provo. It was expected to expire by 4 p.m. Wednesday.

In addition, a flash flood warning has been issued, which includes Tooele County. This warning expires at 6:15 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
