MURRAY, UTAH — A 2-year-old girl escaped serious injury after falling from a third-story apartment window.

The incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. on Aug. 26 as the toddler was playing and pushed against a window screen too hard. The screen gave way and the child fell.

Sgt. Martin Barlow with Murray Police Department said that she landed in a flowerbed, suffering minor scrapes.

Emergency teams and Life Flight crews were prepared for a more severe situation, but fortunately, it wasn’t necessary.

The child was taken to a hospital for precautionary measures and evaluation.
