UDOT says on temporary road on U.S. Highway 6 between Helper and Soldier Summit now open

CARBON COUNTY, Utah — A mudslide has closed U.S. Highway 6 in both directions at mile marker 288, but UDOT says a makeshift road between Helper and Solider Summit opened Monday afternoon.
UDOT said the road will be gravel as they repair the highway and the speed limit will be 25 mph over the next several days.
Road Closure: US-6 is closed in both directions at mile marker 228. EB traffic is being diverted to US-89 into Sanpete County and WB traffic has been diverted to US-191 into Duchesne County. UDOT crews are responding, no ETA on when it will reopen at this time. pic.twitter.com/SQu1QhvZmk

According to a Utah Highway Patrol X post, eastbound traffic is being redirected to U.S. 89 into Sanpete County. Westbound traffic is being redirected to U.S. 191 into Duchesne County.
