We’ve seen the traditional “ballot” dump, made up of ballots that were mailed in, and we are awaiting as in-person ballots are tabulated.
The first comments from @beckyforutah as the returns are her with a 51 to @BHough4Congress 26% to @CelesteMaloyUT 22%.

Statewide numbers are starting to trickle in. Becky Edwards has almost 53% of the votes in Salt Lake County, Bruce Hough has 23.6, and Celeste Malloy has 23.6%.
7:58 p.m. As of 4:00 p.m., Piute County has come in with the highest voter turnout with 44%. KSL NewsRadio’s Lindsay Aerts reports that it shows that rural voters may be able to swing this election tonight!
SALT LAKE CITY –It’s been a whirlwind of activity since Rep. Chris Stewart, R-Utah, announced in June that in order to spend more time with his family, he would not complete his term in Congress. He will leave his office on Sept. 15.
Since then, Utah lawmakers and Gov. Cox have adjusted election schedules in order to accommodate the Utah GOP’s wish to fill the vacant seat as quickly as possible.
Meanwhile, candidates have gathered signatures and participated in debates to get the word out about their candidacy and why voters should choose them.
The first of those changes is happening all across Utah’s 2nd Congressional District today, as Republicans cast their ballots on Utah’s primary election day.
Who are the primary election candidates?
KSL NewsRadio has compiled one-on-one interviews as well as written rundowns that detail the positions of the Republican primary candidates as well as all the candidates who will participate in the general election. They are all available on our Race to Replace webpage.
The three Republicans on the primary ballot are Bruce Hough, Celeste Maloy and Becky Edwards, who declined to be interviewed.
