SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah — A new 3.2-mile extension of Mountain View Corridor into Saratoga Springs opened Wednesday morning, ending a yearlong construction project.
Saratoga Springs Spokesperson AnnElise Harrison said it will be an alternate route for people who usually take Redwood Road.
Harrison said the extension runs parallel to Redwood Road and takes traffic all the way to Lariat Boulevard.
“They now can, at 2100 North in Lehi, hop onto Mountain View Corridor and just take that all the way down south to Lariat Boulevard.”
Harrison said the extension will greatly help commuters going to and from Salt Lake County and will ease congestion.
“It is a two-lane road until you reach Pioneer Crossing. And then it does expand to that traditional Pioneer Crossing configuration with the two two-lane roads with the space in the middle for a future freeway.”
According to a press release from Saratoga Springs, the extension is “one of the largest road projects” in its history. The project cost $26.5 million.
