Court appearance postponed for Ruby Franke, Jodi Hildebrandt

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah — YouTuber and Springville mother of six, Ruby Franke, and her business partner Jodi Hildebrandt were slated to physically appear in court for the first time Monday morning. The hearing has been postponed after attorneys for Franke and Hildebrand filed a motion to ask for more time.

The attorneys filed the motion citing “additional time needed to review copious amounts of discovery,” and asked for the hearing to be pushed until after Oct. 5.

Both Franke and Hildebrandt appeared virtually last week.

The two have been charged with six counts of aggravated child abuse.

Their arrests came on August 30, after a 911 caller reported a 12-year-old boy came to his home with duct tape around his ankles and wrists, and asked him to call the police. The boy was later identified as Franke’s son.

Police later found his 10-year-old sister in the home. Court documents said both were starved and emotionally harmed.

Franke is well-known for her parenting advice and vlogging on YouTube channel “8 Passengers.” Both she and Hildebrandt have been held without bail since their August 30 arrest.
