COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah — A 12-year-old boy was hit by a car while walking in a crosswalk on Fort Union Blvd. Monday evening.
According to Sgt. Gary Young with the Cottonwood Heights Police Department, at approximately 5:08 p.m. the boy was holding an orange flag to indicate he was crossing.
Young said two cars traveling eastbound were approaching the crosswalk at this time. However, only one noticed the boy was crossing. The adult female in the other car drove through the crosswalk striking him.
Following this, the boy was transported to a local hospital. At this time, he is in critical condition but is stable, according to Young.
