Update: Car involved in fatal hit-and-run on Redwood Road found; suspect still at large

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City Police have located the car involved in Friday’s fatal hit-and-run on Redwood Road. However, the driver has not been found.
SLCPD announced via social media that a tip led police to the vehicle which was impounded. Authorities urged the driver to turn themselves in immediately.
Tonight, acting on a tip, officers located this car and have impounded it for evidence.
No further information is available.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, witnesses called police to report an accident that involved a pedestrian. It happened around 200 South and Redwood Road in Salt Lake City.
Salt Lake City Police said the victim was dead when they got to the scene. Officials found Vanessa David, age 44, in a northbound lane of Redwood Road.
The hit-and-run victim was on Redwood Road
The car hit the woman as she crossed east on Redwood Road. The driver continued northbound and was last seen entering the eastbound ramp to I-80.
Based on video surveillance and other evidence at the scene, detectives are looking for a 2008 Honda Civic, brown, with skull stickers in the back window.
The Utah license plate reads V407UJ. Police said the impact damaged the car’s front end.
